Currambine Marketplace Brochure
The Dan Murphy’s precinct has been planned to offer the residents of Currambine and surrounds with convenient access to Australia’s leading liquor retailer and associated shops.
This precinct is the first stage of the redevelopment of the Centre. Importantly, the proposed internal road system provides for efficient connection between the new Dan Murphy’s precinct, the existing shopping centre and cinema/restaurant precinct and Marmion Avenue.
The Dan Murphy’s precinct is intended to provide a new ‘anchor’ to the Centre. As the Dan Murphy’s is expected to trade between 9am-9pm Monday-Saturday and 10am-7pm Sunday, it is not only expected to bring more people to the Centre, it will do so at different times to existing traffic movements. Currently, the closest Dan Murphy’s store is 21kms to the south.
Proposed Works
In particular, the proposed works associated with the Dan Murphy’s precinct include;
• The creation of a new internal road from the current egress/ingress with Marmion Avenue through to Ocean Gate Parade (to the north), via a new roundabout;
• Three new buildings:
> Dan Murphy’s: 1,350m² over a single level
> Showroom adjoining western wall of Dan Murphy’s: (building P1-B): 283m² single level
> Freestanding building (P1-C): 537m² ground floor / 282m² upstairs office
• On grade parking for 172 cars.
Design
The key design elements of proposed buildings P1-B and P1-C include:
• Prominent signage panels to provide a commanding presence. It is proposed that the buildings have a 3.6m floor-to-ceiling height, with a 6.0m pavement-to-top-of-signage panel height.
• Excellent frontage to internal roads and traffic;
• Convenient and generous customer and pedestrian circulation.
Timing of Proposed Works
Target works commencement date: Late 2010
Target works completion date: Mid 2011.
